Terms of Service

Effective date: May 16, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the AnchorStack website, GitHub App, audit service, and any related services (collectively, the “Service”) provided by Benjamin Anderson (“AnchorStack,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account, installing the GitHub App, requesting an audit, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and have the authority to bind yourself or the organization you represent to these Terms. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Service Description

AnchorStack provides automated and manual code-audit services that analyze GitHub repositories for security vulnerabilities, architectural issues, code quality, and related concerns. Audit results may include a truncated free report and a full paid report, delivered electronically. The scope, depth, and findings of each audit depend on the repository content, granted access, and user-provided information at the time of the request.

3. User Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share any repository with AnchorStack for auditing purposes.
  • You must provide accurate contact information, including a valid email address.
  • You agree not to use the Service to audit repositories you do not own or do not have explicit authorization to audit.
  • You agree not to attempt to circumvent, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the Service or its underlying infrastructure.
  • You are responsible for acting on audit findings. AnchorStack provides analysis and recommendations; implementation of changes is your responsibility.

4. GitHub and Repository Access

To perform an audit, AnchorStack requires installation of a GitHub App. By installing the app, you grant AnchorStack read access to the repositories you select. You control which repositories are accessible and may revoke access at any time through your GitHub account settings under “GitHub Apps.” AnchorStack will only access repositories for the purpose of performing the requested audit.

5. Fees and Payment

AnchorStack currently offers a free truncated audit report. Full reports and additional services may be offered for a fee. Where fees apply, they will be disclosed before payment is collected. All fees are in US dollars. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis; contact us to discuss any concerns.

6. Intellectual Property

Your code and repository content remain your property. AnchorStack does not claim ownership of any content you share. The audit report, methodology, scoring system, and Service software are the intellectual property of AnchorStack. You may use your audit report for internal purposes. You may not resell, sublicense, or publicly redistribute audit reports without written permission.

7. Confidentiality

AnchorStack treats repository content and audit findings as confidential. We will not share your code or findings with third parties except as required by law. You agree to treat any proprietary methodology, tooling, or process information disclosed by AnchorStack as confidential.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. ANCHORSTACK DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS. AUDIT RESULTS ARE BASED ON THE INFORMATION AVAILABLE AT THE TIME OF THE AUDIT AND DO NOT CONSTITUTE A GUARANTEE THAT YOUR CODEBASE IS FREE OF VULNERABILITIES OR ISSUES.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ANCHORSTACK WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO ANCHORSTACK IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate the service relationship at any time. You may stop using the Service and revoke GitHub App access through GitHub settings. AnchorStack reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service for violations of these Terms or for any other reason with reasonable notice where practicable.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms will be resolved in the courts of Texas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
